Vibrant Abstract Artwork
Bring a warm, atmospheric focal point to your interior with Tension by Wellington-based photographic artist Destina Munro. Golden ochre, amber and softly muted brown tones are interrupted by a striking dark horizontal line, while an angular sweep of orange brings structure to the hazy, light-filled composition.
Suggestive of a landscape without describing one literally, this abstract art print balances softness with bold geometry. It offers both a moment of quiet contemplation and a confident statement, beautifully suited to contemporary, mid-century and earthy interiors.
Colour pairing and styling
For a calm, tonal setting, pair Tension with warm white walls, oatmeal linen, sandy neutrals and natural oak. Its honeyed colours also sit beautifully alongside walnut furniture, caramel leather and terracotta accents, creating a layered interior with warmth and depth.
Echo a little of the artwork’s ochre in a cushion, throw or ceramic piece rather than matching every colour in the room. Charcoal or black details pick up its dark horizontal band, while deep teal or muted olive can introduce a richer contrast. Textured rugs, woven fabrics and matte ceramics provide a softer counterpoint to the geometric forms.
Pair the Tension with its sister artwork, Light on the Horizon, for a cohesive, designer touch.
