This 100% lambswool check throw is a real piece of Irish history. The Michael Collins throw comes in olive, gold and white and is finished with a rolled fringe and woven using a vintage 4 ply yarn for a chunky feel and resulting in a very warm and sturdy wool blanket.
This is a historic reproduced 100% wool Irish woven throw replicated from 1922. In 1922, Foxford Woollen Mills crafted a specially commissioned travel blanket and presented it to General Michael Collins. The travel blanket was subsequently used by Michael Collins while travelling in his armoured car and was in his vehicle when the tragic ambush at Béal Na Bláth took place resulting in the death of one Ireland's greatest political icons.
This blanket has now been reproduced in conjunction with the Michael Collins House, Clonakilty, Co. Cork and now available in New Zealand.
